About me
Howard Ginsburg is the K-12 Integrative STEM Specialist for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Since joining NCDPI in 2018, Howard has developed and continues to deliver professional development for teachers, principals, and district leaders to support STEM implementation through the NC Standard Course of Study in Mathematics and Science. He also serves as the process manager for North Carolina's STEM Schools of Distinction recognition program. Howard obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University, and his Master of Science in Education from Nova Southeastern University. Prior to joining NCDPI, he taught math and science for a combined 18 years (grades 6-12) in both Broward County, Florida as well as Wake County, North Carolina. In 2021, Howard received the NC Science Teachers Association (NCSTA) Distinguished Service in Science Education in North Carolina - Administrator Award, and was the 2025 recipient of the NC Science Leadership Association (NCSLA) Michael C. Jackson Distinguished Service Award. Howard has authored a physical science article for the NC Museum of History's Tar Heel Junior Historian magazine and has been featured in a Smithsonian Sourcebook publication addressing Equity and Access in STEM education.
