Laurie Fazio is the Elementary District Math Specialist for Cabarrus County Schools in North Carolina, bringing over 30 years of experience in education to her role. Known for her passion for mathematics education, Laurie has made significant contributions as a presenter at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Conference and the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCCTM) State Conference, where she has led impactful breakout sessions.
In her role, Laurie excels in developing and leading professional development initiatives and curriculum design that empower educators to enhance their teaching practices. One of her standout contributions is the creation of MathMovers, an innovative resource designed to engage young learners through hands-on, movement-based math activities. Laurie is committed to fostering a love of math in children and supporting teachers in delivering effective, interactive lessons that inspire students.
