2026 NCCTM Annual Fall Conference

In a data-driven world, we need to provide opportunities for students to build critical skills and processes to learn about their world through data—and NC is responding! The revised NC K-12 Mathematics Standards include a stronger emphasis on building critical data and chance skills and understandings. In the session, examples will be shared for how to bring rich data experiences into your K-12 math classrooms to get your students “doing data.” Get ready to be immersed with real world data and learn about resources for teaching with data. Together we will learn more about how
to immerse our students in opportunities to see their world through data.

This session will provide an opportunity for participants to explore the newly revised K-8 Mathematics standards through the lens of progressions and mathematical and statistical practices. The newly revised K-8 Mathematics standards and timelines for installation and implementation will be shared and discussed.

Come hear updates from the North Carolina Collaborative for Mathematics Learning (NC2ML). In this session, we will seek input from educators and educational leaders to determine next steps for supporting high quality math instruction, particularly in light of the Revised K12 Math Standards. Topics include supporting data science instruction and revising existing resources, such as instructional frameworks.
