Crafting Investigative Experiences for AP Statistics Students

Along with the updated Course and Exam Description (CED) for AP Statistics the College Board has announced an update to the annual AP Statistics Exam. One of the primary differences is that Part 2 of the exam will have students work through four investigative questions. During this session teachers will learn what questions like these entail and learn how to craft them for their students.

Complex numbers demonstrated by color segments and areas

In this model, 1, -1. i. -i are called four basic colors, white, black, red, green, respectively. A complex number describe a segment with a length and color. Two segment z1and z2 can formed a rectangle with area z1* z2. Therefore we can show the formula (a+b)^2 when they are even negative and imaginary numbers. We can demonstrate quadratic formula when the roots are complex. DIY chance.
