Through evidence sorts, case studies, and coaching practice, they will identify where the cognitive lift lives and leave with tools to turn observations into next steps that strengthen discourse, ownership, and reasoning.

We often tell students to draw a picture to help them make sense of geometry problems. But what about algebraic ones? We will investigate how to use bar models, often used in elementary school mathematics but overlooked in secondary mathematics, to represent and solve linear word problems.
