Recognize, Repair, Reinforce: Closing Mathematical Gaps Before They Grow
Friday November 6, 2026 9:50am - 10:50am EST
Analyze student work, data, and common misconceptions to identify gaps in mathematical understanding. Working collaboratively, they will apply the 3 R's—Recognize, Repair, and Reinforce—to diagnose root causes, design targeted interventions, and develop reinforcement strategies. Participants will leave with practical tools and protocols for proactively closing learning gaps before they grow.

Strengthening Number Understanding through Units Coordination
Friday November 6, 2026 12:10pm - 1:10pm EST
Why do students start back at "one" every time they add? It’s all about the numerical composite—that "lightbulb moment" when a child sees "8" as a container of units rather than just a sequence. This shift is pivotal to moving from counting-all to efficient counting-on. We will watch videos of students, analyze their thinking, discuss tasks, and share useful structures for formative assessment.
